My time in journalism classes definitely made me a font freak. I couldn’t help it. And when I saw this, it reminded me of fonts throughout my life. Curlz WAS cool at some point in everyone’s lives (some later than others, I was done with it by about middle school.) My love of fonts came back this year after watching the documentary, Helvetica, that chronicled the history and popularity of the font in the Sixties and the impact it still has today. I definitely went through a Helvetica phase earlier in the year. Now I’m sticking with Palatino—it’s understated and classy.
In other words, I need to get to writing my story. It’s due tomorrow at midnight and I have about one page down and an undetermined amount to go. Perhaps this font thing has given me the motivation.
